Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies those results. Our own servers do not retain a copy of those search entries. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Visitor Data
Routine hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of a visit. We review that information in aggregate to operate the service and understand general readership. Cookies or similar technologies may be used for basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Visitor data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links may lead to county or state records portals, library collections, archives, or outside search services. The policy of the destination controls information submitted there. Sponsored search results are supplied by a third party, which has its own privacy practices.
Service Providers
Companies that host or support the service may process the server-log information described above. Analytics and advertising partners may receive automatic data for their services. Information is disclosed only when valid legal process requires it or as otherwise described in this policy.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as needed for the purposes described here. Because there are no accounts, the directory does not keep a visitor password or account profile that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
The directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us so it can be removed.
Visitor Data Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a service retains about you. No comprehensive South Carolina consumer-privacy statute is identified here, so this policy does not state a separate state-specific right. Because little visitor data is retained, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs, then removing information that can be found. Use the Contact page to make a request. Public records held by South Carolina state, county, or city custodians remain outside our control; requests about those records belong with the custodian.
Policy Revisions
Changes to this policy will be posted here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
